Perspective
Most organizations don’t have a shortage of ambition. They have too many competing priorities.
When everything feels urgent, leaders get pulled into reaction mode. Teams spend precious time perfecting work that may not deserve it. And talented people can end the day exhausted without having moved the most consequential work forward.
Elisabeth offers a refreshingly different idea:
Not everything deserves your best.
Her TRIoritize Technique™ helps people first determine what truly matters through TALENT, REWARD and IMPACT—and then match their level of effort to the importance of the work.
The goal isn’t to lower standards. It’s to stop distributing exceptional effort indiscriminately so that the work that matters most can actually become exceptional.

You can achieve anything you want in life-Anything. But NOT everything.
Because the secret to doing GREAT things is not trying to make EVERYTHING you do great.

Elisabeth Leamy spent more than three decades in broadcasting, including a decade as the on-air Consumer Correspondent for ABC’s Good Morning America. She has won 13 Emmy Awards and has interviewed presidents and business leaders, Olympians and celebrities. Her investigative and consumer reporting has also helped prompt congressional inquiries, lawsuits and legislation.
She has written for The Washington Post, authored two personal-finance books, taught speaking at UC Berkeley and worked as an on-camera spokesperson for major brands. Her television career has included Good Morning America, World News Tonight, Nightline and 20/20.
But the pressure-cooker world of network news also gave Elisabeth the problem she now teaches audiences to solve.
Trying to make every story her very best wasn’t sustainable. She began deliberately separating her work into GOOD, BETTER and BEST—meeting the standard everywhere while reserving her greatest time and energy for the few stories that warranted it.
That experiment eventually grew into The TRIoritize Technique™, Elisabeth’s practical framework for overcoming priority overload at work and in life.
The TRIoritize Technique™
Find the right priority. Give it the right amount of effort.
Elisabeth’s method asks audiences to evaluate priorities through three lenses:
Where are you—or your organization—uniquely equipped to excel?
Which responsibilities produce the most meaningful return?
Where can your time, attention and resources make the greatest difference?
Then comes effort management:
Meet the necessary standard.
Invest more when the work warrants it.
Reserve exceptional effort for the work with exceptional consequence.
It is a simple distinction with a larger purpose: move people away from indiscriminate overwork and toward deliberate, consequential work.
Programs
For mixed groups of executives and employees
How do people and organizations perform exceptionally when too many legitimate priorities are competing for their attention?
Elisabeth shows audiences how to identify the work that matters most through Talent, Reward and Impact, then determine whether it merits Good, Better or Best effort. Participants leave with a practical way to minimize busy work, protect deep work and direct existing resources toward the most consequential priorities.
Audiences learn to identify their true priorities, calibrate effort intentionally, trade doing more work for doing more important work, and redirect time and resources toward exceptional results.
For executives and anyone who leads people
Successful organizations can reach a point where growth itself creates too many priorities. Leaders spend their days reacting and putting out fires while strategy, mentoring, planning and innovation are repeatedly postponed.
Elisabeth introduces leaders to effort management—a deliberate way to decide when a responsibility deserves minimum, medium or maximum effort, when it should be delegated and when it may not need to be done at all.
The result is a shift from reactive leadership toward more purposeful use of a leader’s time, attention and influence.
For employees, teams and individuals
Priority overload can leave hardworking teams spending enormous energy on the work directly in front of them instead of the work that matters most.
In this practical and entertaining program, Elisabeth teaches teams how to separate the merely in-your-face from the genuinely important, maintain an appropriate baseline of quality across all work and redirect additional effort toward the assignments with the greatest consequence.
Participants leave with a systematic way to prioritize, calibrate effort and replace pointless perfectionism with more pragmatic decision-making.
For executives, employees or mixed audiences
What if doing your best at everything is part of the problem?
Elisabeth challenges one of our oldest assumptions about work: that maximum effort should be the default. Instead, she teaches audiences to make all of their work GOOD, much of it BETTER, and preserve the time and energy required to make their BEST truly exceptional.
The program helps people rethink expectations, regain a sense of control over their effort and stop allowing lower-value responsibilities to consume the resources needed for their highest-value work.

Elisabeth brings more than keynote experience to an event. After decades of live television, she is equally comfortable moderating conversations, emceeing programs, conducting fireside chats and working on camera. That gives planners the option of bringing her into an event in more than one way while retaining the polish and spontaneity of an experienced broadcaster.
For organizations trying to do meaningful work amid too many competing priorities, Elisabeth offers something unusually useful: a memorable idea audiences can actually put to work. Talk with Cheryl about the audience, the room and what you would like people to leave thinking differently about.
