For Lawyers

Speaker representation and booking support for lawyers

Speaking gives colleagues and other professionals a chance to hear how you think, learn from your experience, and get to know you.

You work directly with Cheryl and Philip to shape a useful presentation, develop organizer relationships, and manage the outreach and arrangements around your speaking. We keep our roster small so we know your practice, your message, and the relationships you want to build.

We welcome lawyers throughout the United States, with direct experience supporting Utah attorney audiences and CLE presentations.

Share something useful. Build professional relationships.

Your presentation should give the people listening something worth taking back to their work.

We begin with your practice, your experience, and the professional relationships you want to develop. Together, we identify the audiences and topics that make sense for those goals.

You might be sharing a practical approach, explaining a recurring legal issue to another profession, or helping fellow attorneys handle a challenge you know well. We shape the speaking strategy around the value you bring to that room.

This service fits lawyers who enjoy teaching and want a continuing partner to develop opportunities and manage the business around their speaking. We pay attention to the relationships before and after an event, including opportunities to return and introductions worth developing.

We handle the outreach and the details.

Cheryl identifies relevant law firms, professional associations, Bar sections, conference organizers, and hosts of webinars and educational programs.

Her work includes:

  • Audience and opportunity research.
  • Personal outreach, introductions, and follow-up.
  • Organizer relationships and conversations about program fit.
  • Fee discussions when applicable, booking confirmation, and scheduling.
  • Speaker materials and organizer coordination.
  • Your full agency speaker profile, prepared for search discovery and incoming inquiries.
  • Agreed CLE administration and attention to future invitations.

Some opportunities begin with a connection you already have. Others develop through a new conversation. We pay attention to both and keep you informed as the work moves forward.

You approve your message, fee parameters, and the engagements you accept. Cheryl takes responsibility for the agreed outreach and coordination, and brings decisions to you when your input is needed.

Presentation development when you need it.

If your talk is ready, we begin with representation. If it needs focused work, Philip helps you clarify the point of view, structure, and practical value for the audience.

Cheryl joins the development process through a monthly strategy conversation so the presentation stays connected to the people and organizations you want to reach.

A professional speaker page for your practice

Your monthly service includes a full speaker profile on the Cheryl Janis Agency website. It brings together your biography, presentation topics, audience information, and available media, with a clear route for organizer inquiries.

We prepare the page title, description, and content for search discovery and keep the profile current during our partnership. It gives you a page to share with colleagues and organizers, alongside the outreach we manage.

Our experience with Utah lawyers and CLE

Cheryl's work with Utah criminal defense attorney and legal educator Josh Baron includes audience strategy, organizer communication, scheduling, and CLE coordination.

Josh's presentation, How to Not Hate Your Clients, gives attorneys practical tools for communication, difficult client relationships, and professional boundaries. Our role is to connect that message with appropriate audiences and manage the arrangements around his speaking.

That experience gives us a practical foundation for supporting additional Utah attorneys. We also welcome lawyers in other states and tailor the approach to their audiences, goals, and local requirements.

She handles the moving pieces so I can focus on showing up and giving a strong presentation.

Support for speaking that serves your practice

Some lawyers speak without charging a fee because the presentation supports professional relationships and referrals. Others also pursue paid engagements.

We agree on the purpose of your speaking and the kinds of opportunities worth pursuing. Your monthly agency fee pays for the strategy, outreach, relationship development, and coordination.

We take a long view of your professional relationships. You stay in control of your commitments and decide whether to continue the partnership each month.

A clear monthly service

You pay one monthly fee based on the support you need.

Speaker development: $3,000/month.

Ongoing representation: $3,500/month.

If you begin with speaker development, your monthly fee changes to the representation rate when you are ready to make that transition. You are never charged for both services at the same time.

No commission. No long-term commitment. Cancel anytime before your next monthly renewal.

Your monthly fee is paid in advance. Just email us before your next monthly renewal. We finish the month you have paid for and provide an orderly handoff.

Questions from lawyers

Can you help me find speaking engagements?

Yes. Cheryl researches relevant audiences and programs, contacts organizers, follows up, and coordinates the engagements you approve. We consider CLE programs, law-firm presentations, conferences, and other educational settings that fit your practice and goals. We do not guarantee bookings or a particular financial return.

Do you work with lawyers outside Utah?

Yes. We welcome attorneys throughout the United States. Our Utah work gives us specific experience to build on, and we develop the audience strategy and administration around each client's goals and the relevant requirements.

Does every presentation need to offer CLE credit?

No. CLE is one setting for useful professional education. We also consider presentations for law firms, other professions, community organizations, and conferences when the audience and purpose fit.

Do you handle CLE paperwork?

CLE coordination is included when specified in your agreement. We define the application materials, attendance paperwork, organizer responsibilities, deadlines, and costs involved. Accreditation remains subject to the relevant approval process.

How do we evaluate progress?

We review the organizer relationships, conversations, invitations, and confirmed engagements developing through the work. We also discuss audience feedback and any introductions or referrals you choose to share. We do not promise a number of bookings, referrals, or a particular financial return.

Do I need a finished presentation?

We assess what you already have. Prepared speakers begin with representation. Philip provides focused development when the message or presentation needs work.
