Air Series: Messenger (2026)
2026, Missoula, Montana. 32 × 20 in wool form; 48 × 32 in clear polycarbonate, mounted with matte gold aluminum standoffs. Messenger is made with ethically sourced British Teeswater wool, wet felted in layered veils and then needle-sculpted into long, drifting bands. Photographed after Seraphim, it began to read—almost unmistakably—as a bird: a pale body in flight, winged and intent, moving with purpose through air and light. I think of a dove, or something older than naming: a divine messenger shape, ancient and holy, arriving not with noise but with presence. The clear mount lets light pass through and pool in soft shadow, so the form feels like breath made visible—ruach—hovering, unfolding, and carrying what needs to be carried.
